There are so many options available online if you look for a diet plan to lose weight quickly but it is not so easy to identify which one is best. If the diet plan covers all the important aspects of the meal with necessary vitamins, proteins, and minerals and yet offers an effective lifestyle then you have to go for it.

This diet plan is helpful to lose weight and improve your lifespan with effective results. 

Here we will be using home-cooked healthy food using ingredients that are inexpensive and readily available. After 7 days, you will be feeling much lighter, energetic if you try this plan and you can lose up to 5 kg of weight.

Clarified butter(Desi ghee) and unrefined coconut oil will be used in the recipes of this diet plan. Also, remember to keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water throughout the day.

Indian 7 Day Weight Loss Diet Plan

1For Early Morning -

2] For Breakfast -

  • You have to take Ragi chilla which can be served easily and could be made instantly. You can also consume soft Ragi roti in place of Ragi chilla. The process to make Ragi roti can be checked here -

Ragi Chilla Breakfast for Weight Loss Diet Plan

Ragi chilla is a quick, easy, and spicy recipe for weight loss. This instant healthy Ragi chilla or dosa with added spices does not need any side dish to be consumed along with it. 

This recipe is quite flavorful on its own. Ragi(finger millet) is completely gluten-free and high in dietary fiber with a low glycemic index

So this is a healthy meal to begin your day. Additionally, when we add ghee or coconut oil, it further reduces the glycemic index of Ragi chilla. 

Ragi is a natural source of vitamin D and ghee helps in the absorption of vitamin D in your body.

Procedure :

You have to use a handful of shallotssmall clustered bulbs resembling onions ) as these are rich in vitamin C, B6, and antioxidants. The remaining ingredients are green chilies, curry leaves, coriander leaves, and ginger.
  • Finely chop all of these ingredients and place them aside.
  • Add 1 cup of Ragi flour into a bowl. Add a small spoon of pink Himalayan salt, some turmeric powder and ajwain ( carom seeds), some black pepper powder. Mix this well. 
  • Add water slowly in the center until you get a thick pour-able consistency on the level of idli batter. 
  • Then add all the finely chopped ingredients in it to mix well. You can also add some grated carrots or beetroots in place of green chilies. 
You can make all of this in advance to keep it in an airtight container in a freeze at night. So that you can easily make chillas the next morning. 
  • For making chilla, heat an iron Tawa( flat frying pan ) and add few drops of sesame seeds oil. Then use tissue paper to slightly grease the Tawa to avoid sticking of chilla to the Tawa.
  • Pour some Ragi batter on Tawa and spread it on Tawa as evenly and thinly as possible putting the fire flame on the lowest. Allow it to cook for about 2 to 3 minutes. 
  • As soon as the top side starts getting to dry while the bottom side is being cooked, you have to wet the top side couple of times with a clean napkin in the water.
  • Flip the top side of the chilla to the other side after 2 minutes. Then allow it to cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Then again flip it over.  The dry spots on the chilla top are clearly visible. These parts are wetted by a damp napkin again.
  • Flip the chilla one last time for a minute to the other side. You can transfer it to a plate. Then pour and spread some Desi ghee( clarified butter) on the chilla. This is now ready to serve. 

3]For  Mid Morning -

   a] Mid-morning drink

  • You can have infused water as part of your mid-morning diet plan

Lets see the recipe to make this infused water.

Fruit-infused water with basil seeds is a very effective drink to reduce weight. Basil seeds help to keep your body cool specifically during the summer season. You can make this drink in advance to refrigerate it overnight and use it the next day.

Procedure :

  • In a glass-mug add 1 tablespoon ( TBSP) of pomegranate seeds. Add 2 to 3 mangoes
You can also use watermelon slices, kiwi slices, or apples in place of mangoes. 
  • Also, add 2 to 3 peeled orange pieces, 4 to 5 chunks of pineapple, 2 springs of mint leaves, and half of the thinly sliced lemon in it. Also, add a spring of fresh curry leaves.
  • Now fill the mug with about 1 and 1/2 or 2 cups of water and squeeze in half a lemon. 
  • Then add 2 teaspoons ( TSP) of soaked basil seeds ( Sabja seeds ) and mix all of this well. 
Basil seeds help in reducing body heat and are rich in fibers. It also helps in weight loss and weight management.

This colorful fruit-infused drink is ready to consume and you can even carry it with you if required.

   b] Mid-morning snack

  • You can have 2 small apples or a single medium apple around 10-30 am. Alternatively, you can also take any seasonal fruit of your choice.

4] For Lunch -

  • You should take Paneer bhurji with whole wheat roti around 12-30 pm to 1 -00 pm.
It would be better if you pour some Desi ghee( clarified butter ) on the roti. 

As Desi ghee would help in assimilating the vitamins like natural iodine present in carrot and vitamin A. This is good for thyroid health. Desi ghee also improves digestion and gives healthy and glowing skin. 

This high-protein meal will keep you full for a longer time. Now we will see the recipe to make Paneer bhurji.

Paneer Bhurji Recipe: Protein-Based Weight Loss Meal

Paneer bhurji also called scrambled paneer. Paneer is basically Indian cottage cheese that is made from coagulating milk. Milk is separated into solids and liquid, as solids are strained and pressed for a few hours. Then we get paneer from that.

Paneer is a good protein source and does not increase blood sugar levels. It has a high content of calcium useful for strong teeth and bones. Paneer is a rich source of linoleic acid( essential fatty acid of the omega-3 group ) which helps to lose weight by enhancing the fat burning process in the body. 

For a protein-based weight loss meal, paneer is an ideal choice. 

This is one of the easy and healthy ways to make paneer bhurji.

Procedure :

  • You have to take 50 gm of paneer and grate it. Add 1 grated carrot into this. Now finely chop half of an onion and single green chili { use chili as per your need }.
  • Pour all of this into a bowl. Then add 1/4th TSP of black pepper powder, 1/4th TSP of turmeric powder, 1 TSP of green chutney, and finally pink Himalayan salt
  • Mix all of this well. You can also add other vegetables to make this a healthier meal.

Oil and sugar-free green chutney for weight loss 

  • Put half of the above mixture into a separate bowl. Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves on it. This paneer bhurji is made without using any oil. Also, this bhurji does not need any type of cooking.
  • Now, to make paneer bhurji feeling of wheat roti place a whole wheat roti on Tawa( hot pan) on the lowest flame. Pour 1/4th to half TSP of desi ghee over it and take 2 to 3 TBSP of paneer bhurji feeling over it. Just slightly heat all of this and spread half TSP of green chutney on the roti. 
  • Close and press the roti halfway on the paneer using a spatula spoon for a minute. Then flip it over the other side also for a minute. 
Now, this is ready to serve.

5] For Evening Snack-

  • You should take a small bowl of roasted makhana around 03-30 pm to 4 -00 pm. Also if you are habitual of milk tea or coffee, then do take it without sugar or add a little jaggery. 

Roasted Makhana Recipe: Healthy Indian Snacks for Diet Plan

Roasted Makhana |Weight Loss Diet Plan Evening Snack
Makhana is also called popcorn in the Indian version but much healthier than it. Makhana is known as fox nuts or lotus seeds which are low in cholesterol and less glycemic index

They are gluten-free and low-calorie snacks. So very good for weight management.

We can make this in two flavors such as the simple plain one and the other one having moringa.

Procedure :

Plain favor Makhana -
  • In a small bowl, add 1 TBSP of virgin coconut oil or desi ghee. Add 1/4th TSP of turmeric powder to it. Add half TSP of Kashmiri chili powder or add as per your need. Add half TSP of pink Himalayan salt. Add 1/3rd TSP of amchur powder { fruity spice powder of dried and unripe green mangoes }. Mix all of this well.
  • Heat a large pan and take about 4 cups of makhana to place in the pan. Roast it lightly on medium heat. Take a single makhana and press it with fingers, if crumbles that means it is nicely roasted. 
  • Add the spicey oil mix at the lowest flame to mix this for 2 minutes. You would see the raw flavor of spices are reduced and nicely coated makhana with spices can be seen. Take half of the quantity of this in the bowl.
Morning favor Makhana - This flavor is useful to people with thyroid, diabetes, and high blood pressure problems.
  • Spread the remaining makhana from the above process in the pan. Switch off the flame as the pan is sufficiently heated. 
  • Add 1 TSP of homemade powder of moringa. Mix this properly so that makhanas get proper moringa coating.
Now both these flavors are ready to serve.

Sweetcorn Veg Diet Soup Recipe

Vegetable sweetcorn soup is a perfect diet for reducing and managing weight.

Procedure :

  • Take nicely removed corn kernels from single corn cob. Divide cornels into two equal parts. Add half portion of those cornels into the mixer grinder and grind it coarsely and keep it aside.
  • Add 3 and 1/2 cups of water into a pan and switch on the heating flame. Add the remaining half portion of cornels in this. Add 1 TSP of Himalayan pink salt.
  • As the water is boiling, you have to chop 1 medium-sized carrot, a white portion of 2 spring onions, and 3 beans
  • Add all these vegetables into the hot soup. Also, add previously made coarsely grind corn. Mix and stir all of these once it starts to boil. Allow the vegetables to cook on low flame for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Sprinkle a green portion of chopped spring onions. You can also add 2 streaks of moringa leaves if you like. Again mix it well.
  • Add half TSP of salt as per your taste. Add 1 and a half TSP of Apple cider vinegar. Also, add half TSP pepper powder. Mix this well.
Your soup is ready to serve.

6] For Dinner

  • You have to take a bowl of vegetable soup of seasonal vegetables and seasonal fruits such as papaya, pineapple, or pomegranate around 7 pm.  Due to a fulfilling breakfast and lunch, you should avoid rice and roti for dinner.

7] For Bedtime Drink

  • At around 10 pm, you have to take hot ginger waterYou can also have turmeric tea in place of ginger water.

Ginger Water Recipe for Weight Loss 

You should avoid sugar intake. You have to exercise regularly and take sufficient 7 to 8 hours of sleep. Also, drink a sufficient quantity of water the whole day.


This would help to reduce weight and maintain a healthy body which will make the seven-day weight loss diet chart a definite success.
