You want to post a WhatsApp Status which is a longer video. Let's be specific, you want to post a video of more than 30 seconds long as Whatsapp status, Let's see how we can do this? On WhatsApp, if you need to post status as the video then Whatsapp doesn't allow video of larger than 30 seconds.

As GIF image has no limitation of any length. You can even convert more than 1-minute video into a GIF image file. You can easily post this converted GIF( more than 30 seconds) as your Whatsapp status and resolve the issue of your extended-length video. But the basic question is, What is GIF, and How to do this?

GIF i.e. Graphics Interchange Format is known as bitmap image format which is normally used for images used on the Web and consists of a steady or moving image. GIF maintains image quality. GIF is one of the most common types of image formats in use after JPEG.

So How to convert your video into GIF? Well, there are several apps to do it like,

GIF Maker, GIF Editor, Video Maker, Video to GIF - 

An important thing to note here is that it could take some time to convert a video into a GIF and these GIF images are not having any sound as they are image files basically.

If you do not want your video to be interrupted by any cuts then this method is preferable but if you are OK with the cutting or splitting the longer video clip (i.e. more than 30 seconds) then?

Cutting the Larger Video as Various Short Clips(of 30 Seconds length)

This is the most obvious yet effective method of splitting our long video into multiple shorter clips rather than actually deleting any portion of the video it could be better to divide it into smaller 30 seconds clips (required for Whats-app Status), first 30 seconds then next 30 seconds like this. These short clips can be sequentially posted or we can select specific clips of our required portion as Whatsapp Status.

Now, there are two ways to do this, either manually or using a specific app.

Doing manually means directly choosing a specific video portion while putting the Whats-app Status, as Whats-app permits to selection required 30 seconds from the larger video for Whats-app Status. This is so easy and simple option.

Using Whats-app GB

The third option is to use WhatsApp GB, but this option is not preferable. The biggest drawback is that WhatsApp GB is not available on the Google Play Store because it is a modified app and not authorized so Google does not allow unauthorized apps on  Play Store. 

It is also believed to have some form of malware so for security issues, you will not find it on Google Play Store. So you have to choose this option at your own risk. 

WhatsApp GB an unofficial version of  WhatsApp also comes with some best features and to name a few like 

• You can post a video of more than 30 seconds as a Whats-app status (the most desirable feature) but this video status will be only visible to people who are using WhatsApp GB.
• You can change last seen on WhatsApp.
• You can broadcast any message to 500-plus people.
• You can use two different numbers for WhatsApp on the same device.

So these are the few methods by which you can post a longer video on WhatsApp Status but you should keep in mind that this so-called limit of 30-second video as WhatsApp status has been deliberate and purposefully kept which reminds us that a user tendency of preferring a shorter duration of status (pics or videos).
